Moon Bitcoins Review 2026 (Legit Or Scam)

Moon Bitcoins is a free-to-use website that promises it will mine Bitcoin for you. Is it too good to be true? Upon first glance, we can already see there are some major red flags with this website.

Let's first consider if it's a genuine avenue for making money, and after that, we'll go through the details of what they are offering and if they are actually delivering. It is worth mentioning that there are currently two Moon Bitcoin webpages running:

  • Moonbitcoins.com
  • Moonbitcoin.cloud

The first one appears in online searches first, which means it is the more popular platform for apparently millions of users. I'll talk about that one first, then the second page at the end. Both are very suspicious, and one should be extremely cautious. Always remember that there is no free bitcoin faucet if you are looking to sell cryptocurrency, trade, or buy crypto.

Should You Sign Up With MoonBitcoins.com for Free Bitcoin?

The short answer: No. Don't waste your time. Here's the reason. Although it is free to create an account, you are not actually mining Bitcoin. You supposedly earn money by doing simple tasks like filling out surveys and inviting other users.

Bitcoin the most popular crypto coins

Validating Moon transactions involves expenses. It needs computer processing power and electricity. Moon Miners who are already in operation are hardly able to make a profit when the expenses of the equipment and electricity are taken into account. Thus, a website that is offering you free Bitcoin means that if you receive anything, it will be so little that you can hardly notice it. Here are some things you should think about:

  • Outdated Tech: The webpage has been left as it was in 2021.
  • No Support: The page's Contact Us form does not get a reply. Social media links lead to the https homepage.
  • Withdrawal Hurdles: There is a minimum withdrawal of 0.05 BTC for the free profile. Reviews on TrustPilot say that it takes years to get that balance. Besides, users claim they are frequently asked to pay fees before the withdrawal is approved; it's a classic scam trick.
  • Suspicious Stats: Moon Bitcoin claims to have millions of customers; however, the average user only "earns" about $13. Because the minimum amount you can take out is 0.05 BTC, almost all customers do not reach the limit.
  • Outdated Methods: The Moon webpage claims to be using GPU validation. That is no longer how Bitcoin is mined profitably; most professional companies now go with ASIC hardware.

Your time and effort end up mining Bitcoin for the webpage owners. Plus, the fee to take money out is a major red flag. If you had a real balance, they would just subtract the transaction fee from your payout.

Moon Bitcoins vs. Legitimate Apps to Buy Crypto

Don't mistake those webpages for the MoonPay app. While the "Moon" fraud webpages try to trick you, MoonPay is a reliable service trusted by millions of users for getting their crypto.

One of the great things about a legitimate Moonpay App is that it enables you to connect different payment methods, such as bank transfers, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or PayPal, in order to purchase crypto securely.

How You Supposedly Earn Bitcoins With Moon Bitcoins

This is where it gets murky. The site provides information that contradicts itself.

The Free Bitcoin Faucet

Moonbitcoins.com states that validating crypto does incur costs, as it requires electricity and resources. It goes on to say that it will therefore not reveal information on how it conducts its crypto mining.

It then contradicts itself and says there are no costs, it is cumbersome, and takes time to mine any meaningful amount of Bitcoin.

Bonuses on Offer for "Mining Bitcoin"

Users report that there are a few ways to supposedly generate free Bitcoin returns through various “bonuses” the site offers.

  1. Loyalty bonus: mine on consecutive days, and earn a 1% bonus on Bitcoin rewards. Note that actual mining doesn't offer bonuses, so this is another red flag.
  2. Offer bonus: fill out surveys or watch ads to get a 5% bonus on Bitcoin rewards on your MoonPay balance. Once again, actual mining doesn't offer rewards. This is a gimmick to keep you on the webpage so that the company earns profits from ad revenue.
  3. Referral bonus: refer people and get a 1% bonus for each person referred, up to 100%. This keeps the ad revenue coming in for the webpage (see number two), but does very little for creating actual mining profits for you, the user.
  4. Mystery bonus: random offers for additional Bitcoin. Again, this is another ploy to keep you on the webpage, which in turn may create ad revenue for the website, not for you.
  5. Mining bonus: use your own computer processing power to mine Bitcoin. This one is an actual scam because you are using your own electricity to mine Bitcoins for the site, which you will likely never receive because it is nearly impossible to achieve the minimum payout requirement.

Note that these methods are not listed publicly on the Moonbitcoins.com site or app, and may be associated with other “MoonPay Bitcoin” sites, which were also scams and are no longer in operation.

As you can see, most of these methods for supposedly making Bitcoins with MoonPay Bitcoins don't actually involve mining.

Rather, you are using your time to generate ad revenue for the website. If you offer your CPU for mining, you are mining for MoonPay Bitcoins, and you are not likely to ever see any profit yourself.

How to Register for MoonBitcoins

Signing up is simple but very glitchy. You just need a cryptocurrency wallet and an email address.

However, a lot of people report that the site or app just keeps redirecting them to the homepage as if the account creation system is totally broken.

Is Moon Bitcoins Legit or a Scam?

At this point, you can understand that Moon Bitcoin is a scam. If you are interested in earning Bitcoin, your best bet is using a safe faucet or buying crypto via a trustworthy application such as Binance Smart Chain-compatible wallets, MoonPay, or Moon Cards. Real platforms utilize encrypted connections and provide genuine support for crypto traders.

Moon Bitcoins Pros and Cons

Here is a summary of the pros and cons of Moon Bitcoins.

ProsCons
Free to tryUnlikely to hit the withdrawal threshold
May be asked to pay fees for your own money
High electricity costs if mining via your browser
The page is effectively deleted from active maintenance and offers no support

What about MoonBitcoin.Cloud?

This platform is essentially one more "MoonPay" clone. The difference is that here you pay for "mining privileges." Since mining BTC at home won't be generally profitable in 2026, paying a fixed USD fee to a site with 1-star reviews is one of the surest ways to lose your money.

Interestingly, the Terms and Conditions on Moonbitcoins.com and Moonbitcoin.cloud are the exact same. This means that the two sites are most probably the works of the same owners looking to take advantage of crypto investors.

If you're planning on spending BTC crypto in physical stores, check out the Lightning Network for transaction speed, or get virtual cards (such as Moon cards) which allow you to use your balance via a Visa or Mastercard account.
