What is futures expiration?

It is the last trading day of a futures contract. After it, the contract is settled in cash or by physical delivery.

What does rolling a position mean?

Closing the expiring contract and opening the same position in a later month, so you keep the exposure without taking delivery.

What does the rule column mean?

It describes how the exchange sets the last trading day, for example the third Friday of the contract month.

Which contracts are included?

Popular equity index, energy, metals, interest rate, currency and agricultural futures listed on major exchanges.

Are the dates official?

Dates are calculated from published exchange rules and holiday schedules. Confirm with your broker before expiry.
