NinjaTrader is a specialist tool, and that is the whole point. If you trade futures and care about order flow, market depth and automated strategies, few retail platforms come close. If you want a general investing account across stocks, forex and crypto, this is the wrong product entirely.
The standout feature is order flow analysis, which shows the buying and selling pressure behind price movement rather than just the resulting chart. For a futures trader that is genuinely different information, not a cosmetic extra.

The desktop application is where the real work happens: multi-monitor support, a customisable interface, advanced charting, direct market access and complex order types. That combination is what a serious futures trader needs, and it is not available in a lightweight app.
The Android app covers portable trading with basic charting, customisable alerts and an adaptable interface. The iOS app offers the basic trading options, real-time alerts, advanced security and account monitoring, with straightforward order placement. Treat the mobile apps as monitoring tools rather than replacements for the desktop platform.
Two features deserve emphasis. Trade simulation runs the full platform with simulated money, so you learn the interface and test ideas at no cost. Backtesting runs a strategy against historical data before you commit capital to it. For futures, where position sizes and leverage are substantial, using both before trading live is the difference between a tested approach and a guess.
