Alpari Broker Overview

Alpari Broker Overview

Providing broker services since 1998 and operating in 150 countries, Alpari is now used by two million customers around the world via its Alpari and Alpari International services. It does not provide services to residents of the USA, UK, or Canada.

Alpari offers trading in forex as well as many CFD products including stocks and commodities. It also offers binary options — Alpari calls them “fix contracts” — on a wide range of financial products, including cryptocurrencies. Alpari (.org) International is regulated in Mauritius, while Alpari (.com) Limited is not regulated.

Overall, the trading conditions and features make Alpari an attractive choice for traders. Its size and global reach is impressive, but it is not regulated in a major global financial center which would give it more credibility. Let’s find out more about what this broker offers.

Alpari Trading Terms and Product Offerings

Alpari offers forex trading on more than 40 currency pairs. You can also trade gold, silver, oil, natural gas, stocks, stock indices, and cryptocurrencies via CFD. All these assets are tradable via binary options as well.

Alpari Trading Terms and Product Offerings

Trading terms refer to the spread, commissions, and margin requirements offered by a broker. Alpari provides up to 3,000:1 leverage on forex and commodity ECN accounts. This means that traders are only required to have 0.033% of the funds required to open the position.

Leverage is 300:1 on stock indices and 200:1 on exotic FX pairs. Below are the margin requirements and spreads on commonly traded assets with Alpari Limited (Alpari.com):

AssetMinimum Spread
EURUSD0.8 pips
GBPUSD1.3 pips
USDCAD1.6 pips
USDJPY1.2 pips
Silver1.4 pips
Gold23 pips
Nasdaq 1001 pip
S&P 5000.7 pips
Bitcoin/USD263 pips
Apple stock17 pips

Alpari International (alpari.org) offers tighter spreads starting from 0.4 pips on forex majors. Getting these lower spreads requires opening an ECN account with a commission charge of $1.50 per standard lot. Stock CFDs offered include Apple, Amazon, Alibaba, Berkshire Hathaway, Meta Platforms, Alphabet, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, and Exxon Mobil.

Alpari Cashback Program

The cashback program rewards higher account balances with spread or commission refunds, deposit refunds, or improved currency conversion rates. The larger the account balance, the greater the rate at which points are accumulated from trading.

Accounts over $10,000 automatically benefit from reduced spreads and commissions. As you trade, you earn points which can be exchanged for rewards, such as receiving a 20% rebate on commissions or spreads, or a 50% rebate on deposit commissions.

Alpari Trading Platform Review

Alpari Trading Platform Review

Alpari unlike some other brokers offers Alpari Mobile, MetaTrader 4, and MetaTrader 5.

MetaTrader, which comprises the platforms MT4 and MT5, is a pillar of the forex industry. Most brokers offer this reliable platform.  MT4 is a simple trading platform with all the basics most traders need, including easy order placement, access to news, and basic technical analysis tools.

The platform’s functions can be expanded with scripts and expert advisors (EAs). Basically, traders can add functions such as additional indicators or even have the software trade for them via writing some code. MT5 is very similar to MT4, but involves an expanded programming language more suitable to algorithmic traders.

The mobile platform is easy to navigate and is user friendly. Fixed contracts (binary options) can be traded via the Alpari Mobile, as can forex and CFDs.

Are Alpari Deposits Secure?

Are Alpari Deposits Secure?

Alapari.org advertises that client funds are kept in a segregated account. This means it is out of reach of Alpari, adding a level of safety for traders. If the firm were to become insolvent, client funds are held in a separate account safe from creditors or misuse.

Are Alpari Deposits Secure?

Alpari also claims to work with reputable banks and organizations. All data exchanged online is encrypted for your protection. Alpari International is regulated in Mauritius, and thus is subject to some financial oversight. Alpari Limited (the .com site) is not subject to financial oversight and therefore makes no claims about client funds being in a segregated account.

The broker has been around for more than 20 years, so it is unlikely they will take off with your money, but the lack of regulation for Alpari Limited may be a red flag for some traders. If this makes you uneasy, there are plenty of other brokers that are regulated.

Is Alpari Regulated, and by Whom?

Is Alpari Regulated, and by Whom?

This gets a little complicated, and there is quite a bit of misinformation online. Using a regulated broker is generally a good idea to avoid being scammed.

The only place that Alpari is regulated is in Mauritius, a small island off the coast of Africa. The company is regulated under Exinity Ltd.  Exinity Ltd is not licensed in other jurisdictions and neither is Alpari. Alpari UK Ltd was licensed in the UK up till 2015 but then became insolvent.

In 2010, the FSA of London took disciplinary action against the firm for not adhering to regulations. This means that users of Alpari.org are regulated in Mauritius. Users of Alpari.com, on the other hand, are not regulated. There is an Exinity UK Ltd regulated in the UK. This company owns Forextime, another broker that is owned by the same individuals that own Alpari.
