Chris is 60 and lives in Devon, UK.

Since early 2014 he has been working as a freelance proofreader and copy-editor, leveraging his rich 30-year experience of business and technical writing and his strong science background. He is a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CiEP – was SfEP) in the UK.

During that time, he has worked regularly on editing STEM Journal articles for publication (for Sage UK); on science/maths books for OUP, CUP and Wiley; and on humanities books for Palgrave MacMillan. Chris was a founder and CTO of Sophron Partners for ten years. Sophron was a specialist customer management consultancy working with leading clients in Europe and worldwide. Following the sale of Sophron Partners to CACI, he has worked as an Associate (independent) Consultant with CACI IMG and Rapier/IASO Partners doing similar work.

Prior to setting up Sophron Partners, he worked at McKinsey & Co. and Cambridge Consultants Ltd. Overall he has more than 25 years’ experience of using technology to drive business value in a variety of industries, including writing and presenting frequently at Board and Investor level.

He has an MA in Natural Sciences (Theoretical Physics/Chemistry/Crystallography) from Cambridge University and a ‘mini-MBA’ from McKinsey & Co.
